 Live Show Producer

Reports to: Senior Vice President of LAI Live

Department: LAI LIVE

We are looking for a self-motivated, seasoned live show producer with experience in a live event production environment – theatre, television, conferences - and a solid background in event design and technical expertise.

Our top candidate will excel at producing live events and stage productions, be able to develop strong relationships with clients, act as a consultant who shares insights and best practices,  respond to RFPs with ease, and remain cool under pressure.  This is a Washington, D.C. based, in-office position.

A successful candidate will also…

  • Develop and manage client relationships and contracts to ensure delivery of exceptional service
  • Manage the production planning process and necessary assets (production timelines, show flow and scripts, creative content, room diagrams, and other support documentation) for live events
  • Develop and add expertise to each client production by creating unique ways to deliver a message or program segment, editing scripts, maintaining cue sheets, and ideating new audience engagement techniques
  • Contribute to the creative process by developing scenic ideas, unique ways to display & design graphics and visual content, theme concepts, storytelling, and more
  • Manage the onsite execution process for internal and external events to include leading a large production team, show-calling, talent rehearsals, labor management, venue logistics, concurrent session management and vendor relations
  • Manage the follow-up process and continued client communications for the contracted event
  • Have a strong understanding of event audio visual equipment, lighting, rigging, scenic and union labor requirements
  • Capture event success stories for Marketing purposes
  • Be proficient in MS word, Excel, Adobe PhotoShop, internet file sharing and possibly have the ability to work in CAD, Meeting Matrix, Google Sketch to produce drawings and room diagrams

This candidate should also have…  

  • At least five (5) years work experience, in a fast-paced production, entertainment and / or event environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to juggle multiple projects successfully while adhering to stressful situations and tight deadlines
  • Be able to work as an individual and in a collaborative team environment
  • The ability to travel up to 30% of the time, which includes long hours and an irregular schedule

Live Event Sales & Service Account Director

LAI LIVE, a leader in producing live and virtual events for corporation, association, and non-profit clients is looking for a talented, creative, experienced, sales professional, business development guru, or agency strategist, with a solid history of building client portfolios and selling full-service experiences, either in live events, sponsorships, conference & conventions, or destination management. As the account director, you will be the consistent through line for the client, guiding them through a highly collaborative proposal and budgeting process. If you are an experienced sales professional with proven results in lead generation and portfolio growth, this may be the job for you.


Successful candidates will:

  • Have an entrepreneurial approach to their business
  • Research and build relationships with potential new clients

LAI Live Events Internship

Reports to: Senior Vice President, LAI Live

Department: LAI LIVE

LAI Live is currently seeking a strong candidate for Fall 2022 Internship. This DC-based, in-office position offers the right candidate a unique opportunity to learn the ins and outs of live event production including production management, program development, producing, set & lighting design, audio visual components, client interfacing skills, entertainment rider management, and more. The internship will include client interaction and on-site event experience. 

Job Duties Could Include:

  • Work closely with Producers and Creative Director on assigned projects
  • Assist with production schedules, equipment spreadsheets, asset collection and other pre-production logistics
  • Assist with creative development for general session programming ideas, awards ceremonies and interactive attendee experiences
  • Contribute to creative output of set design, graphic design, lighting design
  • Provide general support as needed
  • Provide production assistant, stage manager, or breakout support on-site

Knowledge of / or experience with the following a plus:

  • Stage management, graphic design, event production, live television production, production management
  • Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and / or Apple Keynote
  • Adobe PhotoShop, AfterEffects, Google Sketch, or other design program
  • Social Media - Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pintrest

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a professional, positive attitude and be able to work individually or as a contributing member of a team
  • Just-graduated or current student learning in related program such as theatre, event management, live event production, audio visual design or design

Contract Graphic Designer

LAI Live is seeking a visually creative contractor to partner on the production of graphic artwork to be displayed at live events. Events will be a mixture of in-person, virtual, and hybrid experiences for attendees. The designer will partner with the Creative Director as well as internal and external stakeholders to create inspiring branded artwork that supports the marketing/promotion of live shows, delivery of live speaker content, and visual client messaging.

The designer will work alongside the Creative Director and client to create all the graphics necessary in pre-production, and then work with our executive producer onsite to operate live graphics equipment, work with the client to handle any onsite graphic edits, and collaborate with talent during rehearsals.  Candidates based in DC or eastern/central time zones will be given higher prioritization.

Skills Needed:

  • Adobe Illustrator

  • Motion / animation / video editing skills are a big plus
